Each morning began with soft whispers as dew glistened on taro leaves, while the countryside stirred awake under a veil of fog. The air was rich with the scents of orange blossoms, sugar apples, and the warm spices of cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg, creating a delightful olfactory tapestry.

I reached a similar conclusion in 2018, which I reflected on in my blog post about my six-month break from the daily grind.
Since then, I have strived for balance, residing in a small town with a city garden that offers me solace from the demands of work. The term "soft life," meaning "easy and requiring little effort," has historical roots dating back to the mid-1600s. It's akin to "the good life," though the latter typically implies a stronger association with leisure and luxury.

One of my favorites is the vlog "DIY House and Farm," featuring an American woman who moved to Ghana to run a homestead with her African husband. Another is Tatiana Haina, a Ghanaian vlogger focused on African village food culture as a contrast to her previous life in Europe. Additionally, Jael of the Village, a Kenyan vlogger, shares her journey of leaving city life to farm in a local village. These channels offer engaging content for those aspiring to embrace a softer lifestyle.
