A Hilarious Encounter with "The Bat-Moth" at Midnight

Chapter 1: The Midnight Fright
It was well past midnight when I was jolted by the piercing screams of a woman, clearly in distress. The front doors swung open, revealing an elderly black lady dashing inside, her shouts reverberating through the lobby. "AHHHH! AHHHH! AHHHH!" she yelled. Hot on her heels was a dark moth, roughly the size of my palm, flitting about with alarming intent.
"AHHHH! It's a bat! Get it off me! Get it off me!" she cried, her voice escalating into sheer panic as the moth darted through the lobby and down a corridor.
Trying to soothe her, I fought back laughter. "Ma'am, the moth has left. You can take a breath."
She retorted, "Oh no, that was definitely a bat!"
"Actually," I replied, "it was just a moth, completely harmless. I assure you, there's nothing to fear."
Her skepticism was palpable. "Oh hell no! That was a baby bat, and it was after me for dinner!"
I couldn't help but chuckle. Reaching into the cooler, I handed her a bottle of water. "Here, have some water on us. It's fine now. You’re safe, I promise."
She gulped the water down, her breaths uneven. "That thing was huge," she remarked.
I smiled at her. "Are you alright to make it to your room?"
Just then, the moth reappeared, swooping back into the lobby. Her eyes widened in horror. "AHHHHH! AHHHH! AHHHH! There it is! Get it out! Get it out of here! AHHHHHHHHH!"
What had initially been amusing was quickly becoming absurd. "Please calm down; you're going to frighten the other guests," I urged, attempting to restore order.
Her panic peaked as I missed a few attempts to catch the moth. Eventually, I cupped my hands around it and made my way outside, releasing it into the night.
"Oh my Lord Jesus, that scared me," she said, her voice still shaky.
I smiled, trying to be comforting. "Don’t let the long hair and beard fool you. My name is actually Michael."
She chuckled, "Oh Michael, you’re a funny guy. I can't believe you actually touched that thing."
I shrugged casually. "Yeah, I’ll definitely wash my hands after this. Are you feeling better now?"
Her breathing began to normalize, and she nodded. "Yes, thank you, Michael."
She settled into a chair in the lobby and began sharing stories about her granddaughter, who had recently graduated, the reason for her visit, and her unexpected encounter with the "Bat-Moth."
