Chapter 1: The Birth of Hostneur

It’s akin to acquiring a piece of digital real estate where you can build and promote your online identity. This involves storing your website’s files on a server, functioning as a virtual home for your content. Users can access your website by typing your domain name into their web browsers.

Why Did We Launch Our Own Hosting Company?

You might wonder why we felt the need to create our own web hosting service in a market saturated with options. As a professional blogger, I had my share of experiences with various hosting providers, most of which were less than satisfactory.

Although one well-known service was decent, I often faced frustrating periods of downtime. While brief interruptions can be acceptable, there were instances where my site was inaccessible for hours. Moreover, I sought more affordable and dependable hosting options for my online projects.

My co-founder, Ariful Islam Khan, encountered similar issues with existing web hosting services. This shared frustration led us to search for a better solution. However, after failing to find an affordable and reliable hosting plan, we decided to take matters into our own hands and create our own solution.

The Journey of Creation

When Ariful proposed the idea of starting a web hosting company, I was quick to agree to partner with him as the Chief Marketing Officer.

Coming up with a fitting name for our venture proved to be quite a challenge, with many amusing brainstorming sessions where we ended up with silly suggestions. Ultimately, we settled on Hostneur.com, a combination of “hosting” and “entrepreneur,” reflecting our target audience of modern business owners.

In April 2023, we decided to temporarily relocate to a hill station to focus on building our company together. I later traveled to Manali solo for a month, while Ariful had personal commitments. Despite the distance, we remained in constant communication and worked remotely.

Initially, we sought investors, but after facing financial hurdles, we chose to bootstrap our company. By June 2023, upon my return from Manali, we discovered we still faced challenges, particularly in securing a payment gateway for international transactions.

We officially launched Hostneur on August 6, 2023, but the initial response was underwhelming. Our first client didn’t come until August 20, and we continue to engage with potential customers, learning valuable lessons along the way.

Our experiences have been enlightening, and although we sometimes disagree, we've made decisions aimed at fostering the growth of Hostneur. We are particularly grateful to our friend Yasin Alyani, a graphic designer from Mumbai. Though not a co-founder, he plays a crucial role in our discussions and decision-making process.
