Chapter 1: Embracing the Week Ahead
Hello, dear readers and fellow writers! I trust your week has commenced on a positive note, fueled by a refreshing weekend, and that you're ready to tackle any obstacles that come your way. As my second active month on the Medium platform draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on my progress, akin to the little boys depicted below:

It certainly seems like the Medium algorithm has devised a cunning strategy to shape my statistics, mimicking the contours of my cherished Pyrenees Mountains. Perhaps it aims to keep my spirits high and my motivation unwavering... Just kidding! I sincerely hope that isn't the case. However, I do want to share the reasoning behind my choice of cover image for this post.
Doubts... Fears of Failure... Lost in Translation?
For those of you who are loyal followers of my “Lunch Time Chilin’” series (and I hope you are!), you may have noticed that my recent posts have taken on a lighter tone, and I’ve been less forthcoming about my daily feelings. You’re right to observe this shift!
Rest assured, I still thoroughly enjoy writing this daily entry. I am genuinely amazed by the incredible support and kind words you share with me each day; it fills me with gratitude. However, there’s a caveat... (not sure how to translate this quintessentially French expression). My initial writing goals have been met, giving way to this daily routine. Simultaneously, I feel a disconnect from my original digital aspirations.
I've struggled to confine this writing practice to 15 minutes or less, simply because I love doing it—it's as straightforward as that! Now, it takes me about an hour to complete this, which has impacted my time management:
- Completing my tasks for my regular 9–5 software engineering job
- Spending over an hour on this daily writing
- Writing additional technical articles on my favorite topics (crypto, AI, HomeLabs)
- Resulting in less time with my loved ones
If you know me, you can easily see how I feel about this outcome.

It may soon be time for me to make some decisions and strike a balance among these various commitments. But for now, as this Monday winds down, I can hear the call of my bed. “La nuit porte conseil!” as we say in France. How would you translate that in your country? This series also serves as a way to explore new languages!
That’s all for now—see you soon! I’ll leave you with a French song that speaks to the choices we all must make in our lives and the determination needed to stand against those who suggest otherwise.
