Chapter 1: The Fitness Bitch Unveiled

When you hear the name The Fun & Funny Fitness Bitch, you might think of someone fierce, but let me clarify: I’m not mean or confrontational. I chose this name for my fitness series because I believe the term “bitch” can be empowering.
The word embodies attitude, resilience, and assertiveness. In contrast, I am naturally soft-spoken, sensitive, and introverted, yet there’s a fiery spirit inside me. Some might call it brave (or perhaps reckless) that I swim in the ocean throughout the year. Despite this adventurous side, I struggle with everyday tasks — like parallel parking, adapting to outdated technology, and keeping up with the latest slang that my teenage son claims is essential.
“Mom — you’re sooo out of touch!” he often teases.
Returning to the term “Bitch,” it represents a sense of self-assurance that I often lack. Using that label helps me project confidence, allowing me to “fake it until I make it.” These various aspects of my identity are like layers of a rich chocolate cake.
While my bold persona isn't on display all the time, it shines through when I engage in intense workouts, write, and discuss topics that pique my interest. However, there’s a deeper layer that I keep hidden — a side that contradicts The Fitness Bitch's principles about health and wellness. This “other woman” in my life is a dark secret that I’ve struggled with for far too long.
I finally confronted this inner demon.
You can read my story here, published in Human Parts. Long-form writing is a rarity for me since I began this publication, but I poured my heart and vulnerability into this piece, using humor to navigate the topic. I hope it resonates with readers.
Quitting My Relationship with Sugar
I reluctantly ended this affair, but it was necessary — the other woman was jeopardizing my well-being.
