Tracking Your Blog's Performance: Insights From the Last Month

Chapter 1: The Importance of Statistics
My fascination with statistics began during my childhood, largely fueled by my passion for baseball and the collecting of baseball cards. In my later school years, this interest blossomed into an obsession.
I vividly remember subscribing to Beckett Baseball Card Monthly, a publication that became a highlight of my month. Receiving that new issue, complete with vibrant covers showcasing star players and promising rookies, was thrilling. The magazine also featured insightful articles on both the sport and the hobby, which I eagerly devoured.
Moreover, the pricing section provided a detailed account of card values, fluctuating based on player performance. I found joy in reading these issues throughout the month, constantly checking the value of my card collection and predicting potential increases for the following month.
My daily routine included reading the newspaper to track player performance, and this attention to statistics extended beyond baseball into NFL and NBA statistics, my ultimate favorite sport.
Statistics have remained integral to my professional journey as well. Whether calculating my hourly earnings during commissioned retail jobs, analyzing housing market data throughout my 19-year real estate career, or now, in my writing endeavors, I've consistently engaged with statistics.
In my current phase, I monitor social media metrics and blog performance. I regularly check my Twitter analytics to gauge follower growth and the reach of my tweets, with some even garnering over 80,000 views—an exhilarating experience!
Lately, I've observed a positive trend on Medium, with my views and reads steadily increasing over the past month. The metrics reset daily, allowing me to easily spot trends. Typically, I've seen over 7,000 views in the last 30 days, with only slight fluctuations into the 6,000s upon waking.
This growth is particularly exciting, especially compared to a couple of months ago when my views consistently hovered around 5,000, occasionally dipping to the 4,000s.
Currently, my reads stand at 2,718, which I just checked before starting this blog entry. For writers on Medium, reads are crucial since they directly impact our earnings—more reads translate to higher income.
I’m interested in hearing about your blog's performance. How many views and reads have you accumulated recently?
